The City of Frederick has changed dramatically in the last 20 years – growing from a sleepy small town to the second largest city in the State. Frederick now stands as the third point in a powerful economic triangle that traces to Washington D.C. and Baltimore.

Home to over 3,500 companies, the City has already experienced an explosion of private investment and continues to cause a stir among commercial developer and business communities alike. Join us for a lunch discussion led by local industry leaders, where we’ll explore how Frederick has become an attractive marketplace to so many; followed immediately by a Downtown walking tour to discover the opportunities of tomorrow.

Panelist Speakers include:

  • Pete Plamondon, Jr, Plamondon Hospitality Partners, developer of the Downtown Hotel and Conference Center
  • Frank Blanchard, Director of Public Affairs and Communications, Frederick National Laboratory for Cancer Research, Leidos Biomedical Research, Inc.
  • Brad Benna of Matan Companies
  • Scott Ryser, CEO, Yakabod – Tech Company, Tech Frederick, Board Member, recently moved into adaptive reuse project on Carroll Creek

Richard Griffin, The City of Frederick’s Director of Economic Development, will serve as the panel’s moderator and host a tour of development sites along Carroll Creek – including a visit inside the recently-completed & award-winning adaptive reuse project: Union Knitting Mills
